Parents choose Children’s World Learning Center because the Center offers:
Low teacher to child ratio of 1/7. A low teacher to child ratio offers individualized attention for your child. Each child is seen as a unique individual and the Center provides an environment designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each child.
A developmentally appropriate planned preschool program. Guided by the standards set forth by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), developmentally appropriate activities are planned each day. Our many activities include music and dance to encourage movement, art activities to spark creativity, science centers to encourage a sense of wonder. Block centers foster social skills and language as children create and build together. Many other activities provide your child with an environment of learning through play.
A pre kindergarten program which focuses on the many readiness skills to successfully enter kindergarten. Our pre-kindergarten curriculum is planned according to the readiness standards of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District while remaining developmentally appropriate.
A loving and caring staff. Our teachers and teacher assistants are all educated in the fields of child development and early childhood education and are encouraged to continue their education in these fields through classes, workshops, and conferences. Only those persons who are warm, caring and have a deep understanding of children and their development are selected as staff members.
Large open classrooms. Our classroom environment is designed to encourage your child to engage in many activities throughout the day.
Large outdoor play areas. Our outdoor space with shady trees and large play structures encourage children to run, climb and play. Gross motor skills are developed while stimulating their sense of play and imagination. The Center has two large yards which allow the younger children to play independently of the older children.
Nutritious and delicious morning and afternoon snacks which introduce your child to a variety of healthy foods.
Flexible enrollment schedules. CWLC offers enrollment schedules of 3, 4, or 5 days with half day or extended day options available and are designed to meet the various needs of parents and their children.
Extended day care program. Parents who need afternoon care for their child are assured that their child will be cared for in a safe and fun environment with a balance of activities, rest and nutrition.
Assistance with toilet training. We assist parents with toilet training in a loving comfortable setting. Parents can rest assured that their child will also develop the self-help skills needed to successfully use the bathroom independently.
Parent – teacher conferences. Parents are given the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher twice each year to discuss any concerns they may have. Parents are also welcome to set up conferences throughout the year as needed at a time that is convenient for both the parent and teacher.
Informal parent meetings. Once each month parents are invited to gather for “Coffee and Conversation” and discuss various topics with other parents and the Director of Children’s World Learning Center. Topics may include family issues, parenting concerns and other concerns parents may have.
